Issues in the oil and gas sector reviewed
President Shavkat Mirziyoyev was informed of the ongoing work in the oil and gas sector to stabilize production volumes and develop new reserves.
The information covered the dynamics of natural gas production within the Uzbekneftegaz system, the factors contributing to the decline, and the measures being implemented to address them. It was noted that in the first quarter of this year, additional volumes were achieved through the commissioning of new wells, repairs to existing ones, and the application of technological measures. Plans are in place to expand this work throughout the year.

Special attention was given to integrating modern technologies to improve well efficiency. Potential areas for new 2D and 3D seismic surveys are currently being identified. To strengthen control over drilling and field operations in line with international standards, plans are underway to implement a supervision system, conduct geological and hydrodynamic modeling, and develop production programs in greater detail.
Issues related to increasing the gas recovery factor at fields, applying new approaches to hard-to-recover reserves, and assessing the economic efficiency of programs planned for 2026-2027 were also addressed. It was noted that relevant work in this area is being conducted in collaboration with international companies.

The Head of State highlighted the importance of maintaining production stability in the sector, efficiently utilizing existing capacity, systematically organizing exploration and drilling operations, and expanding partnerships with foreign companies to achieve tangible results.
Responsible officials were directed to enforce strict oversight of the planned measures and to achieve tangible results in every area.
