International experience in effective public finance management discussed

Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Minister of Economy and Finance Jamshid Kuchkarov met with representatives of the International Monetary Fund.

The meeting focused on enhancing fiscal sustainability, optimizing public finance management, and ensuring the wise use of budget funds. 

The parties considered adopting advanced international approaches to fiscal management, ensuring a balance between budget revenues and expenditures, managing deficits, and opportunities for the efficient use of budget resources.

Attention was also paid to improving the quality of revenue forecasting and expenditure planning, as well as to using accurate and reliable forecasts when formulating budget parameters.

The Ministry’s Information Service reports that the parties have agreed to continue their collaboration to reinforce fiscal discipline, strengthen public finance reforms, and analyze best practices.
