Current issues in the fight against corruption in the CIS under discussion
The Uzbekistan delegation participated in the 11th CIS Interstate Council meeting on Combating Corruption held in Minsk, where they discussed anti-corruption practices across member states.
The meeting was attended by representatives of Armenia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Russia, and Tajikistan, as well as senior officials of the CIS Executive Committee.
The event covered current challenges in combating corruption across the CIS, along with sharing experiences, enhancing cooperation, and fostering coordinated strategies. The focus was particularly on property confiscation gained through criminal activity, conducting criminological assessments of legislation, and expanding human resource capacities.
The participants learned about Uzbekistan’s anti-corruption reforms led by the Head of State, along with the country’s active engagement in regional and international initiatives.
The delegates valued the ongoing transformations and supported Uzbekistan’s proposals. In particular, the initiative to grant the Law Enforcement Academy of the Republic of Uzbekistan the status of a basic organization of the CIS member states for education in the field of anti-corruption was fully approved.
