Cooperation with Belarus in trade, economics, science, and technology is growing stronger
A delegation from Tashkent region, led by Hokim Zoyir Mirzayev, is currently visiting the Republic of Belarus on a working trip.
In Minsk, the delegation met with Nikolai Sherstnev, Deputy Head of the Property Management Directorate of the President of the Republic of Belarus.
The parties noted that relations between Uzbekistan and Belarus are steadily developing based on a strategic partnership and mutual trust.

Cooperation spans industry, agriculture, investment, healthcare, education, tourism, and humanitarian affairs.
Mr. Mirzayev provided detailed information on the economic and investment potential of Tashkent region.
The Belarusian side highly appreciated the region’s opportunities and expressed interest in developing trade, economic, and investment cooperation, implementing joint projects, and expanding direct contacts between the business communities.

Following the meeting, it was agreed to maintain ongoing dialogue to enhance the partnership and advance investment projects.
During the visit, the delegation members also met with Lyudmila Makarina-Kibak, head of the Institute of Genetics and Cytology at the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus.
The talks, held in a constructive spirit, focused on prospects for cooperation in science, innovation, and biotechnology.

The parties explored options for the gradual implementation of a modern Personalized Medicine and Genetic Passport system in Tashkent region.
Furthermore, the discussion addressed challenges in maintaining sustainable agricultural development amid climate change. To address the drop in crop yields due to water scarcity and soil salinization, a scientific approach was suggested: launching joint projects focused on the genomics of climate-resilient crops.
The parties confirmed their readiness to combine scientific expertise with modern technologies to conduct joint research and implement promising projects.
