Ancient Guest Hall in Zarmetan

The Zarmetan mahalla in Qiziltepa district, Navoi region, is notable for its rich history and cultural heritage.

House No. 225 carefully preserves an ancient guest room built 250 years ago. The room features traditional architecture and was constructed using the vernacular building methods of Turkic peoples. The wall niches and their decoration reflect the culture of that era. Its historical value is further enhanced by the ancient household items and tools preserved there.

Experts note that very few examples of traditional 18th-century housing have survived in the country in such well-preserved condition. The room is regarded as an important cultural heritage site for scholars and the younger generation alike.

Residents of neighboring mahallas, districts, and cities, as well as school students, come to see the ancient guest hall. For them, the visit becomes a unique historical and educational journey, enabling them to learn about the environment in which their ancestors lived and to become acquainted with ancient architectural methods.
