ADB delegation reviews reforms in Uzbekistan’s pharmaceutical sector
The Director of the Medical and Pharmaceutical Industry Development Agency Abdulla Azizov met with representatives of the Asian Development Bank.
The guests were briefed on Uzbekistan’s pharmaceutical ecosystem’s development, promising projects, and the Agency’s key areas of activity, including measures to improve product quality and to develop the sector’s scientific and educational infrastructure.
The parties discussed in detail preparations for Uzbekistan’s accession to the Pharmaceutical Inspection Co-operation Scheme (PIC/S), the process of improving the inspection system in line with international standards, and areas for joint work.
ADB representatives positively assessed the ongoing reforms and expressed their readiness to participate in promising joint initiatives.
Following the meeting, the parties reaffirmed their interest in expanding cooperation, sharing experience, and strengthening Uzbekistan’s potential as a regional pharmaceutical hub.
