A Cooperation Agreement between the Government of Uzbekistan and UNESCO, along with a roadmap for 2026-2027 signed in Paris
At UNESCO Headquarters, Gayane Umerova, Chairperson of the National Commission of Uzbekistan for UNESCO and the Art and Culture Development Foundation, met with the Director-General of the organization, Khaled El-Enany.
Following the meeting, the parties signed a Cooperation Agreement between the Government of Uzbekistan and UNESCO, as well as a roadmap for 2026-2027. The document establishes a legal and organizational framework for ongoing systematic cooperation between Uzbekistan and UNESCO in education, science, culture, communication, and information.
The Agreement is intended to implement initiatives proposed by the President of Uzbekistan during the 43rd session of the UNESCO General Conference, held in Samarkand in November 2025.
During the meeting, the parties discussed priority areas for further cooperation and interaction within the framework of the roadmap, with a focus on concrete results. The parties expressed their readiness to implement joint global initiatives in practice.
