Uzbekistan’s sambo athletes win 10 medals at the Asia and Oceania Championships
The Asia and Oceania SAMBO Championships and Youth and Junior SAMBO Championships are taking place in the Philippines. Youth competitions were held on the second day of the championships, with the Uzbekistan national team winning one gold, three silver, and six bronze medals – ten medals in total.
Islom Abduzakirov (-71 kg) won the gold medal. Laysan Sagadiyeva (-54 kg), Asadbek Ruzmetov (-58 kg), and Asadbek Yuldashboyev (-98 kg) claimed silver medals. Bronze medals were won by Ozodbek Otayev (-64 kg), Taras Buchintsev (-79 kg), Nuriddin Sheraliyev (-88 kg), Ruslan Shokirov (-98 kg), Asal Shavkatova (-72 kg), and Bakhtjan Mamutov (-79 kg).
Recall that in yesterday’s cadet competitions, the Uzbekistan national team secured four gold, two silver, and five bronze medals.
