Uzbekistan ranks 5th at the World Nomad Games
Uzbekistan’s ethnosport team won 19 medals at the 6th World Nomad Games, held in Issyk-Kul region, Kyrgyzstan.
More than 3,000 athletes from nearly 100 countries competed in 43 ethnosport disciplines. Uzbekistan’s delegation competed in 32 events.
At the Games, Uzbekistan’s athletes competed for medals across a variety of sports, including mas-wrestling, sambo, armwrestling, kurash, belt wrestling, strongman competitions, uloq-kupkari, bel olish, uchkurash, archery, equestrian sports, sumo, intellectual games, and Uzbek martial arts.
Uzbekistan athletes won medals in the national sport of kurash, as well as in several other traditional martial arts, including sambo, mas-wrestling, and armwrestling, and other disciplines.
Uzbekistan’s sports delegation placed fifth in the overall team standings, earning 4 gold, 4 silver, and 11 bronze medals.
Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Russia, and Mongolia led the overall medal counts.
