Uzbekistan – India: Cooperation in the field of cinematography reaches a new level
The opening ceremony of the Indian Film Festival, organized by the Embassy of India in Uzbekistan in cooperation with the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting of India and the Cinematography Agency under the Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Uzbekistan, took place in Tashkent.
Speaking at the beginning of the ceremony, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of India to Uzbekistan, Ms. Smita Pant, Director of the Cinematography Agency Shukhrat Rizayev, Indian film director Umesh Mehra, and others noted the strengthening of friendly relations between the two countries and their importance for the development of cooperation in cinematography.
The festival will be held from March 13 to March 15 at the Alisher Navoi Cinema Palace. The program includes films such as “Dangal”, “The Value of Life”, and “Tanvi the Great”, devoted to the struggle of women for their rights. The event offers viewers a unique cinematic experience, revealing the inspiring role women play in shaping the public’s worldview.
Sh. Rizayev stressed the importance of developing cooperation between Uzbekistan and India in the field of cinematography.
The event also included a panel discussion on “Women influencing and transforming social narratives and perspectives through cinema”.
