Uzbekistan develops new ways to assess natural disaster risks and restore ecosystems
An international conference on applying systems analysis to assess natural disaster risks and adapt to climate change is underway at the Academy of Sciences of Uzbekistan. Experts from 12 countries are taking part in the event.
The conference is organized by the Russian Academy of Sciences, the Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Uzbekistan, the International Institute for Applied Systems Analysis (IIASA), and the United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO).
Over three days, international experts will discuss systems analysis methods for managing risks from extreme natural events, as well as approaches to stabilize degrading ecosystems.
Particular attention will be paid to practical solutions for restoring the Aral Sea region’s ecosystem, developing the region’s agricultural and industrial potential, and introducing modern technologies to ensure sustainable development.
