At the opening, Deputy Prime Minister Jamshid Khodjayev noted that Uzbekistan’s economic reforms in recent years are creating new opportunities for foreign investors. He highlighted the strong potential to expand practical cooperation with Danish companies in mining, energy, water management, transport and logistics, agriculture, and the food industry.
The event focused on developing multimodal and container transportation in the transport and logistics sector, upgrading terminal infrastructure, and creating modern supply chains. Particular attention was also paid to the potential of a middle route via the China – Kyrgyzstan – Uzbekistan railway, the Trans-Afghan corridor, and the Caspian Sea.
In the energy sector, possibilities for expanding renewable energy sources, improving energy efficiency, and implementing new projects through public-private partnerships were considered. In the water management sector, the parties emphasized modernizing irrigation pumping stations, implementing energy-saving pumping equipment, and localizing the manufacturing of such equipment in Uzbekistan.
The parties exchanged views on mechanisms to expand production, increase localization and export opportunities, and provide long-term financing for industrial, energy, water management, health, and logistics projects in the agriculture and food industry.
The Minister of Foreign Affairs of Denmark Lars Løkke Rasmussen stated that his first official visit to Uzbekistan aims to strengthen bilateral relations, particularly in the economy. He noted growing interest among Danish businesses in working and investing in Uzbekistan.
