Uzbekistan and Algeria expand cooperation in tourism

Chairman of the Tourism Committee of Uzbekistan Abdulaziz Akkulov met with the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the People’s Democratic Republic of Algeria Jamila Achour.

The parties discussed developing interdepartmental cooperation among relevant tourism agencies, implementing joint projects to promote the two countries’ tourism potential, and strengthening ties between tour operators and private-sector representatives.

Special attention was given to the prospects of establishing direct flights between Uzbekistan and Algeria, attracting investment for the development of tourism infrastructure, and expanding cooperation with Algeria’s business community.

Following the negotiations, an agreement was reached to organize introductory information tours to Uzbekistan for representatives of the Algerian media, bloggers, and tour operators. In addition, the Algerian delegation will participate in the Tashkent International Tourism Fair. The parties also confirmed their readiness to implement tourism and investment projects jointly.
