Uzbekhydroenergo JSC has achieved significant agreements
As part of the Fifth Tashkent International Investment Forum, held on June 16-18, representatives of Uzbekhydroenergo JSC held talks with representatives of the U.S. company 77 Construction USA Corp., China’s China Huaneng Group, India’s Adani Group, Japan’s MUFG Bank, Germany’s AKA Bank, the Croatian companies Koncar and In Foro Viridi, the World Bank Group, as well as the Ministry of Industry and Commerce of Afghanistan.
The meetings resulted in important agreements and the identification of promising areas of cooperation.
According to Farrukh Nurullayev, Deputy Chairman of the Board of Uzbekhydroenergo JSC, a memorandum was signed with China Huaneng Group to implement major investment projects through public-private partnerships.
An agreement was reached with India’s Adani Group to establish a joint working group and to implement promising projects.
Cooperation was established with Koncar and In Foro Viridi for the construction of small- and medium-sized hydropower plants.
In addition, the parties discussed cooperation with Afghanistan on the supply of hydropower equipment and the design of facilities.
An agreement was reached with the World Bank Group to expand cooperation on attracting concessional financing, using MIGA guarantees, and participating in grant programs.
Representatives of 77 Construction USA Corp. discussed the implementation of projects using EPC+F and public-private partnership models, as well as specific mechanisms for practical cooperation.
Talks were held with representatives of MUFG Bank and AKA Bank regarding the introduction of long-term financing instruments for major projects.
It was emphasized that the forum had provided new opportunities to expand the geographic scope of international cooperation, establish direct contacts with potential investors, and implement large-scale investment initiatives.
