The Tashkent International Half Marathon is being held with a high level of organization.
An international half-marathon dedicated to the 35th anniversary of our Independence was held in Tashkent on a large scale and at a high organizational level. Attended by nearly 24,500 participants from 50 countries, the prestigious sporting event, which featured five separate starts, became a unique celebration of mass sports, international cooperation, and a healthy lifestyle in our capital.
The Tashkent International Half Marathon was held at a high level as one of the prestigious sporting events serving to develop mass sports in our country, widely promote a healthy lifestyle, and showcase our capital's potential for hosting major international sports events.
Five starts were organized as part of the competition, with nearly 24,500 people participating. The fact that approximately 53 percent of the participants are women indicates the growing interest of women in sports and a healthy lifestyle in our country.
The grand opening ceremony of the Tashkent International Half Marathon was attended by Viktor Mahmudov, Secretary of the Security Council under the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan and Chairman of the Uzbekistan Triathlon Federation; Adham Ikromov, Minister of Sports of the Republic of Uzbekistan; and Akmalxo'ja Mavlonov, Chairman of the Customs Committee and Chairman of the Uzbekistan Athletics Federation.
Speakers at the ceremony emphasized that the focus on developing sports, establishing a healthy lifestyle among the population, and elevating mass sports to a new level in our country is yielding high results.
The international scope of the competition is also expanding. It is attended by more than 2,000 foreign participants from 50 countries, including over 20 representatives from the diplomatic corps and international organizations. Additionally, more than 3,500 corporate registrations were recorded for the event.
Within the framework of the half marathon, special attention is also paid to the development of inclusive sports. Approximately 600 participants are taking part in special starts. This, along with the popularity of the competition, further enhances its social significance.
The organizational and security support for the competition has been established through the cooperation and clear coordination of all relevant services. The pre-planning of necessary measures has made it possible to create comfortable conditions for participants, ensure traffic safety, and allow the competition to proceed without interruption.
Modern digital technologies are also being widely used at the event. Specifically, the "TimingSense" system for electronic timekeeping and the "ProRun Live" system, which allows for online tracking of the distance covered, have been introduced. These solutions have made it possible to accurately record participants' results and to monitor the competition's progress online.
The half marathon's media coverage also boasts high figures. The social media audience has exceeded 13 million. As part of the event, more than 70 video materials and over 3,000 publications were produced. More than 50 bloggers and influencers were engaged to provide broad coverage of the competition.
More than 15 companies participated in the two-day EXPO and registration area, showcasing their products and services. The necessary conditions were created for participants to conveniently manage their registration and preparation for the competition.
Overall, the Tashkent International Half Marathon is distinguished by its broad range of participants, meticulous organization, effective use of modern technologies, high level of security measures, and extensive media coverage.
The fact that the competition is being held in high spirits, in an orderly and high-level manner, shows that the experience and potential for organizing mass sports events in our country are consistently growing. Our capital's capabilities to worthily host major international sporting events are also steadily expanding.
