The President of Uzbekistan congratulates the President of Kazakhstan on his birthday

During a telephone conversation on May 17, the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev warmly congratulated the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev on his birthday, sincerely wishing him good health, well-being, and great success in his responsible state activities for the peace and prosperity of the brotherly people of Kazakhstan.

The Leader of Uzbekistan separately emphasized the high level of preparation and organization for the informal summit of the Organization of Turkic States and the substantive talks in Turkestan, which gave new impetus to mutually beneficial cooperation among the participating countries.

Current issues for strengthening good-neighborliness, strategic partnership, and alliance between Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan were considered in the context of implementing agreements reached at the highest level.

The dynamic development of mutually beneficial cooperation across all areas was noted with satisfaction. Systematic work is underway to increase bilateral trade turnover to $10 billion in the coming years. Investment activity is expanding, including through the International Center for Industrial Cooperation, and promising projects and initiatives are being implemented in energy, transport, ecology, and cultural and humanitarian areas.

The importance of developing a new economic agenda within the framework of the planned meeting of the Intergovernmental Commission, the first Council of Heads of Regions, and other mechanisms was emphasized.

The schedule of upcoming bilateral and multilateral events was also reviewed.
