Tenth meeting of SCO member states’ education ministers held
Belarus hosted the tenth meeting of the ministers of education of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization member states.
Delegations from India, Iran, Kazakhstan, China, Kyrgyzstan, Pakistan, Russia, Tajikistan, and Uzbekistan attended the event.
The Minister of Higher Education, Science and Innovation of the Republic of Uzbekistan Kongratbay Sharipov provided information on the reforms underway in the country in higher education and science, the efforts to expand access to education and improve its quality based on international standards, and the efforts to involve young people in innovation activities.

The participants discussed the current state of education systems in the participating countries, the reforms being implemented in this area, and the priority areas of cooperation in education and science for 2027-2029.
In their speeches, the heads of delegations emphasized the need to improve the quality of education, expand academic mobility, introduce digital educational technologies, develop research cooperation, and support young people’s innovation activities.

Following the meeting, the protocol for the tenth meeting of ministers of education of the SCO member states was signed, and agreements were reached to strengthen multilateral cooperation.
The delegations also participated in a wreath-laying ceremony at the Victory Monument in Minsk.
