Tata Steel Chess 2026: Nodirbek to face Aravind
Today, January 19, the 3rd-round matches in the Masters group of the Tata Steel Chess 2026, consisting of 13 rounds, will take place in Wijk aan Zee, the Netherlands.
Nodirbek Abdusattorov will play with the black pieces against Indian chess player Aravindh Chithambaram, while Javokhir Sindarov will play with the white pieces against Vladimir Fedoseev.

In the 2nd round, Nodirbek Abdusattorov, playing with the white pieces, defeated India’s Rameshbabu Praggnanandhaa. The match between Javokhir Sindarov and Dutch grandmaster Anish Giri ended in a draw.

After two rounds, the tournament standings are led by American chess player Hans Niemann, our compatriot Nodirbek Abdusattorov, and India’s Arjun Erigaisi, each with 1.5 points. Javokhir Sindarov, like nine other participants, has 1 point.

It should be noted that following yesterday’s victory, Nodirbek improved his position in the FIDE rating, moving up from 12th to 7th place.
The matches of the final, 13th round of the tournament will be held on February 1.
