Strengthening cooperation in sports medicine with Hungary
A Memorandum of Understanding on strengthening international cooperation in the field of sports medicine was signed between the Ministry of Sports of the Republic of Uzbekistan and Hungary’s Semmelweis University.
At the signing ceremony of the memorandum, the Uzbek side was represented by Minister of Sports Adham Ikramov, Secretary General of the National Olympic Committee Oybek Qosimov, and Rector of the Uzbekistan State University of Physical Education and Sport Rashid Matkarimov. The Hungarian side was represented by a delegation led by Béla Merkely and Tamás Sterbenz, rectors of Semmelweis University and the Hungarian University of Sports Science.
During the meeting, issues related to developing cooperation between the two countries in sports medicine and organizing effective monitoring of athletes’ health were discussed.

During the meeting, the officials noted that, based on the signed document, the establishment of cooperation between the Hungarian University of Sports Science, the Uzbekistan State Sports Academy, and the Uzbekistan State University of Physical Education and Sport is a significant development.
An agreement was also reached on the prospects for developing cooperation between these higher education institutions in the areas of sports education, scientific research, and academic exchange.
