Steve Daines highly valued Uzbekistan's sustainable development

First Deputy Chairman of the Senate Sodiq Safoyev met with Senator Steve Daines, Co-Chair of the U.S. Senate Central Asia Caucus.

The meeting covered issues such as deepening the strategic partnership between Uzbekistan and the United States, enhancing interparliamentary relations, and increasing regional cooperation.

The senator appreciated the reforms in Uzbekistan and the country’s stable growth, also emphasizing the need to strengthen mutual trust and cooperation between the two nations.

The parties exchanged views on strengthening transport and economic connectivity in Central Asia, particularly the development of the Middle Corridor. The senator also noted Uzbekistan’s key role in strengthening regional cooperation.

Following the meeting, Steve Daines emphasized the need to maintain ongoing dialogue between the U.S. Senate and the Central Asian countries and expressed readiness to deepen the strategic partnership with Uzbekistan.
