Sixth World Nomad Games continue
The Sixth World Nomad Games are taking place in Kyrgyzstan’s Issyk-Kul region.
The main competitions and events, involving over 3,000 athletes from more than 90 countries, are taking place in Bishkek and Cholpon-Ata.
The Games include competitions across 43 ethnosport disciplines, with athletes from Uzbekistan vying for medals in 32 of these.
Uzbekistan’s athletes compete in a variety of sports including mas-wrestling, sambo, armwrestling, kurash, belt wrestling, strongman events, ulak-kupkari, bel olish, triathlon, archery, equestrian sports, sumo, intellectual games, and Uzbek martial arts.
On September 2, competitions will take place across various disciplines included in the Games program.
Throughout the day, Uzbekistan’s athletes will vie for medals in martial arts, archery, and horseback riding events.
On the opening day of the Sixth World Nomad Games, Uzbekistan’s kurash athlete Numonjon Rajabov secured the gold medal in the +90 kg category. In recognition of his achievement, the National Anthem of Uzbekistan was sung, and the national flag was hoisted.
The competitions are scheduled to run until September 7.
