Presidents of Uzbekistan and Belarus discuss key issues on the bilateral agenda
On August 30, the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev held a telephone conversation with the President of the Republic of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko.
President Shavkat Mirziyoyev warmly congratulated the President of Belarus on his birthday, sincerely wishing him good health, well-being, and success, and peace and prosperity for the friendly people of Belarus.
In turn, President Alexander Lukashenko warmly congratulated President Shavkat Mirziyoyev and the multinational people of Uzbekistan on the upcoming Independence Day, wishing Uzbekistan continued development and prosperity.
The two leaders discussed ongoing efforts to strengthen the strategic partnership between Uzbekistan and Belarus, focusing on implementing agreements made during the Uzbekistan President’s official visit to Minsk on July 8-9 this year.
The Presidents expressed satisfaction with the productive contacts and exchanges between the two countries, particularly at the regional level.
Bilateral trade has increased by 28 percent since the beginning of the year. Cooperation projects are underway in agriculture, mechanical engineering, pharmaceuticals, electrical engineering, light industry, and other sectors.
The leaders also discussed the schedule for upcoming bilateral meetings and events.
