Prakash Kejriwal: “Our confidence in stable operations in Uzbekistan has increased”
Uzbekistan’s economy is showing consistent growth.
In recent years, about three thousand new product types have been introduced across various industrial sectors. Foreign investors are making a significant contribution to this process, and their support helps improve the efficiency of the projects being implemented.
One of the largest foreign investors to have made a significant contribution to the development of Uzbekistan’s cotton and textile industry is the Singaporean company Indorama Corporation.
On June 2, under the chairmanship of President Shavkat Mirziyoyev, a videoconference was held to discuss issues related to accelerating the development of the chemical industry and implementing investment projects in the regions.
At the meeting, Indorama Corporation Group Director Prakash Kejriwal informed the Head of State about the company’s activities in Uzbekistan, praised the investor-friendly conditions being created, and raised several issues important to the expansion of the business.
President Shavkat Mirziyoyev instructed responsible officials to provide the necessary support to implement the company’s new initiatives and develop its operations in the country.
The company is among the largest investors in Uzbekistan’s textile industry and also invests in agribusiness. In Uzbekistan, mineral fertilizer production is developing.
Prakash Kejriwal expressed gratitude to the Head of State for supporting investors.
“We have been operating in Uzbekistan since 2010 and have implemented several investment projects”, says Prakash Kejriwal. “We are investing in the chemical industry, the agricultural sector, and real estate. The meeting with the President, investors, and other stakeholders was highly productive. This dialogue format allows investors to raise existing issues openly and receive solutions within clearly defined timeframes”.
Such an approach not only strengthens investors’ confidence but also clearly demonstrates the government’s readiness to consider the proposed ideas and to find effective solutions to existing problems. For foreign entrepreneurs, this is an important factor in building confidence and creates favorable conditions for long-term, successful operations in Uzbekistan.
