Pokiza Ahmadbekova and Marjona Pardaboyeva become world champions
The Uzbekistan national team has had a successful beginning at the Para-cycling Road World Championships in Huntsville, Alabama, USA.
On the first day of the competition, Uzbekistan’s team stood on the podium twice. Pokiza Ahmadbekova, competing in the H1 class, finished ahead of her competitors to win the world championship. Her win marked Uzbekistan’s first gold medal of the event.
Soon after, Marjona Pardaboyeva, who began in the T1 class, also secured an outstanding result by finishing first. As a result, she was also crowned world champion.
In just one day, two of Uzbekistan’s athletes reached the world championship podium. Pokiza Ahmadbekova and Marjona Pardaboyeva’s achievement marks another major milestone in Uzbekistan’s para-cycling history.
