New Tashkent – new opportunities
A delegation led by Hideo Fuseda, Vice-Minister for International Affairs at Japan’s Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications, visited the New Tashkent Directorate.
At the meeting, the guests were briefed in detail on the extensive development work underway as part of the first phase of this major urban development project, launched at the initiative of the President of Uzbekistan. In particular, they received detailed information on the new city’s investment potential, modern and secure infrastructure, extensive green spaces designed to ensure environmental sustainability, and the progress of construction work.
As noted, intensive construction and installation work is underway across 127 lots as part of the first phase of New Tashkent. Notably, 25 of these lots are dedicated to developing modern road networks and engineering and utility infrastructure.
The parties also exchanged views on the prospects for applying advanced international practices, particularly Japanese technologies and urban planning expertise, to the implementation of the project.
