New project presented
Nukus hosted a roundtable discussion on “Sustainable development of the country – interethnic harmony and unity”.
Representatives of the Jokargy Kenes of the Republic of Karakalpakstan, the Karakalpakstan Territorial Administration of the Committee for Religious Affairs of the Republic of Uzbekistan, non-governmental non-profit organizations, national cultural centers, the Center for Rehabilitation and Adaptation of Women under the National Agency for Social Protection, as well as media workers attended the event.

The project “Sustainable development of the country – interethnic harmony and unity”, funded by the Minority Rights Group, Representative Office of the European Union in Uzbekistan, and the Karakalpakstan Regional Office of the Civil Initiatives Support Center, was presented at the event.

There are more than 600 non-governmental non-profit organizations and 5 national cultural centers in Karakalpakstan. The project aims to further strengthen their activities by establishing cooperation, increasing their experience in participating in grant competitions of international organizations, and ensuring financial stability.
Following the event, a Memorandum of Understanding was signed between the Karakalpakstan Regional Office of the Civil Initiatives Support Center and national cultural centers.
