New agricultural solutions have been showcased
A practical workshop, "Field Day", devoted to cultivating and selecting climate-resistant feed crops and improving the efficiency of agricultural production, took place in Tashkent region.
The event took place on the sidelines of the Tashkent Experimental Station of the Research Institute of Cereals and Legumes as part of the German-Uzbek expert dialogue program on climate-resilient agriculture.
The event was attended by female scientists, teachers, undergraduates and students from research institutes and agricultural universities, representatives of the Ministry of Agriculture and its Agency for the Development of Livestock and Pasture Economy, AKIS, as well as residents of the mahalla where the experimental plot is located.
The special event for women employed in the sector was initiated at the request of the Federal Ministry of Food and Agriculture of Germany (BMLEH).
During the Field Day, experts presented test results for various crops and discussed practical approaches to growing alternative feed crops. Participants also visited a demonstration farm, where they learned about methods for intensifying food production.
The event featured discussions, dialogue, and an exchange of expertise, followed by a tasting session of products made from alternative new crops.
The event was organized as part of the 2024-2026 grant program, which is implemented by the Ministry and GFA Agricultural Projects in accordance with the joint statement of Germany and Uzbekistan on cooperation in sustainable and climate-resilient agriculture.
The Field Day also coincided with the International Day of Awareness of Food Loss and Waste, celebrated on September 29.
