Minister of Economy and Finance meets with Franklin Templeton representatives

Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Economy and Finance of the Republic of Uzbekistan Jamshid Kuchkarov met with representatives of Franklin Templeton.

During the talks, the parties discussed priority areas of economic reform, measures to improve the efficiency of state-owned enterprises, and the development of the capital market.

Particular attention was paid to transforming companies in the portfolio of the National Investment Fund of the Republic of Uzbekistan. Specifically, the participants discussed measures to improve corporate governance, enhance financial transparency, and strengthen the investment attractiveness of these enterprises.

The parties also exchanged views on opportunities to prepare selected companies’ shares for IPOs, access international capital markets, and attract institutional investors. The importance of applying international experience and standards in these efforts was emphasized.
