Long-term water resource management objectives defined
International open reports on strategic planning and human capital management were presented at the National University of Uzbekistan.
The event brought together government officials, academia, experts, and young researchers.
The Minister of Water Resources of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Khamrayev emphasized the importance of long-term sector planning amid water scarcity, climate change, and food security challenges.
According to the Minister, a national strategy for the rational use of water resources and environmental protection for 2027-2050 has been developed jointly with Professor Vladimir Kvint, Academician of the Russian Academy of Sciences, and his team of experts.
According to the ministry, the document aims to define long-term priority areas for the industry’s development and improve the efficiency of managerial decisions.
The event fostered the sharing of experience in strategic management, discussion of current approaches, and strengthened research and educational cooperation between Uzbekistan and Russia.
