Land Plot Returned to Entrepreneur with Business Ombudsman's Assistance
As is well known, the Business Ombudsman of the Republic of Uzbekistan actively provides support in protecting the rights and legal interests of business entities, preventing unlawful interference in their activities by state bodies, and resolving any emerging problems.
In particular, with the intervention of the Business Ombudsman, the rights of many entrepreneurs are being restored and the damages caused to them are being compensated.
Accordingly, the head of "E.K." LLC, operating in Jizzakh city, appealed to the Business Ombudsman for practical assistance.
The entrepreneur reported that during the transfer of the cadastral documents for the 1.4-hectare greenhouse, which was purchased by the company in 2017, to the electronic database (UzKad) , a 1,178 sq.m. plot of land was removed from the state register without the owner's consent.
Although this registry entry was later annulled by the pre-trial dispute resolution commission, employees of the local cadastral agency had been delaying the re-registration of the land and building.
Based on the appeal, employees of the Business Ombudsman's Office formed a relevant working group and conducted an on-site visit to remeasure the greenhouse building and its adjacent territories based on existing documents. As a result of the investigation, the entrepreneur's rights were restored, and the full 1.4-hectare greenhouse belonging to the company, including the previously removed 1,178 sq.m. of land, was re-registered with the state in the UzKad system.
