JICA Executive Senior Vice President visits Samarkand

Samarkand Regional Hokimiyat hosted a meeting with a delegation led by Katsura Miyazaki, Executive Senior Vice President of the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA).

Adiz Boboyev, Hokim of Samarkand region, expressed readiness to implement joint projects with the agency in education, agriculture, and road and transport infrastructure development, attract investment and grant funding, and create the conditions needed to carry them out.

The parties discussed promising areas for cooperation and the implementation of joint initiatives.

The delegation also visited the Samarkand Agroinnovations and  Research University.

At the meeting, adapting Japan’s advanced agricultural practices to local conditions through scientific research and experience-sharing was identified as one of the promising areas of cooperation.
