Interparliamentary cooperation and regional development discussed
In Beijing, a seminar for parliamentarians from Central Asian countries was held, emphasizing the role of legislative bodies in current development efforts and exploring strategies to enhance regional cooperation.
Members of the Senate of the Oliy Majlis Anvar Tuychiyev and Jamila Bobonazarova, participated in the seminar as part of the Uzbekistan delegation.
Mr. Tuychiyev provided detailed information on the open, constructive and pragmatic foreign policy pursued under the leadership of the President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev, the country’s international and regional initiatives, as well as the democratic, socioeconomic and legal reforms consistently implemented as part of building New Uzbekistan.
The seminar discussed the role of parliaments in advancing regional cooperation, ensuring the effective implementation of interstate agreements, improving parliamentary oversight mechanisms, and exchanging experience in this field.

The participants discussed methods for integrating international treaties into national laws, supporting legal frameworks for trade, economic, and investment relations, enhancing transport and communication infrastructure, and broadening humanitarian collaborations.
As part of the event, a seminar entitled “Strengthening the exchange of experience in public administration and advancing common modernization through high-quality development” was also held.
In addition, meetings took place with Shohrat Zakir, Vice-Chairman of the Standing Committee of the National People’s Congress of China, and the heads of the parliamentary delegations of Central Asian countries. The parliamentarians discussed strengthening mutual trust and friendly relations, as well as developing cooperation within the China – Central Asia format.
