International collaboration in sustainable development enhances

A meeting took place at the Institute for Macroeconomic and Regional Studies with Jeffrey Sachs, the President of the UN Sustainable Development Solutions Network (SDSN) and a Professor at Columbia University.

The parties discussed collaborating on sustainable development, focusing on innovative solutions for environmental and educational issues. 

Representatives from the Senate of the Oliy Majlis, international organizations, leading universities, and research institutions attended the meeting.

Jeffrey Sachs noted that Central Asia’s growing strategic importance as a connector between Europe and Asia presents Uzbekistan with significant opportunities. Its strategic location, intellectual capacity, and ongoing reforms enable Uzbekistan to engage and bolster its role as a regional leader.

Following the meeting, the parties agreed to enhance collaboration in sustainable development and to support joint scientific research and innovative initiatives.
