Honoring a veteran
A festive event was held at the home of Muhammadibrokhim Inomov, a 104-year-old Second World War veteran who lives in Oqtepa mahalla of Yangikurgan district, Namangan region.
The event was attended by Namangan region Hokim Shavkat Abdurazzakov, heads of the region’s defense and law enforcement agencies, and representatives of the public.
The event, held on May 9 – the Day of Remembrance and Honor – was accompanied by a performance by a military orchestra.
The regional Hokim read a holiday greeting from the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev to the veteran. On behalf of the Head of State, the veteran was also presented with a cash reward and holiday gifts.
During the meeting, it was noted that the worthy life path, rich experience, and resilience of representatives of the older generation serve as an important example and a school of upbringing for young people. It was emphasized that preserving peace and tranquility in the country is the sacred duty of every person.
