Figures of culture and art honored
In accordance with a decree of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan of May 28, a group of workers in the fields of culture, art, and literature was awarded state honors.
Today, a solemn ceremony to present these awards was held at the International Congress Center in Tashkent. President Shavkat Mirziyoyev attended the event.


Speaking at the ceremony, the Head of State emphasized that a country’s strength is determined not only by economic indicators but also by its spirituality, culture, literature, and art.


“The voice of a nation with rich literature, heartfelt music, meaningful theater, strong and inspiring cinematography, and captivating art will always carry weight in the world”, the President said.


In this regard, it was emphasized that in the process of building New Uzbekistan, a cultural space is being created that contributes to the spiritual and moral education of people. The invaluable role of intellectuals, writers and poets, cultural and art figures, as well as representatives of the creative industry, in this process was highlighted.


President Shavkat Mirziyoyev emphasized that, thanks to the selfless work of creative people, national self-awareness is strengthening in society, the people’s worldview is expanding, and the values of kindness, patriotism, and humanism are taking ever deeper root in the hearts of young people.
The Head of State noted with satisfaction that 167 outstanding representatives of the fields of culture, art, and literature have been awarded high state honors. The fact that among them are writers and poets, singers and musicians, masters of dance, opera performers and composers, figures of theater, cinema, and circus, bakhshi and masters of askiya, artisans and artists, employees of cultural heritage institutions, museums, and libraries, and teachers and mentors who, through many years of fruitful work, have made an enormous contribution to the development of the cultural, artistic, and intellectual potential of our people gives us all a sense of pride.


At the same time, deep respect was paid to the cherished memory of outstanding figures in literature, culture, and the arts who have already passed away but continue to live in the hearts of the people through their words, songs, and melodies, and through their entire lives devoted to creativity. Twenty-four of them were awarded state honors posthumously.


“Worthy recognition of the merits of every person in our country, even those who have already passed away, is our moral obligation. This aligns with the spiritual values of our people, who deeply honor the memory of their ancestors”, Shavkat Mirziyoyev noted.


During the ceremony, the President solemnly presented badges of honor, orders, and medals to the award recipients.


On behalf of the entire nation, the Head of State sincerely congratulated the award recipients and expressed confidence that this high recognition would inspire them to achieve new creative accomplishments.


Cultural and artistic figures expressed gratitude for the high level of respect and attention, as well as for the broad opportunities being created to develop culture and support creative people.
