European Union and Uzbekistan to advance connectivity priorities on the Trans-Caspian Transport Corridor

On 30 September 2026, Tashkent will host the Second National Trans-Caspian Transport Corridor (TCTC) Conference in Uzbekistan.

The event will bring together government representatives, international financial institutions, development partners and the private transport and logistics sector.

Co-chaired by Uzbekistan’s Ministry of Transport and the European Commission’s Directorate-General for International Partnerships, the Conference will focus on translating shared connectivity priorities into concrete investment opportunities and reforms.

Building on the TCTC and Connectivity Investors Forum held in Tashkent in November 2025 and the 1st national workshop of the TCTC Coordination Platform in September 2024, the Conference will provide a platform to discuss Uzbekistan’s priorities for strengthening its role along the Trans-Caspian route and improving sustainable connectivity between Central Asia and Europe.

Discussions will focus on investment in railway and road infrastructure, developing an efficient logistics network, digitizing transport and trade documents, facilitating border-crossing procedures, and increasing private-sector participation.

The Conference is part of the EU-funded TCTC Coordination Platform under the EU Global Gateway strategy, which brings together the five Central Asian countries, the European Union, international financial institutions, and international partners to coordinate investments and reforms aimed at making the Corridor a sustainable, safer, and faster connection between Europe and Asia.

Following the Conference, its outcomes will guide continued cooperation on priority investments and measures to improve the Corridor’s efficiency and competitiveness and strengthen Uzbekistan’s strategic role in the region.
