Emerging opportunities for the textile sector
Uzbekistan, in collaboration with Germany, is taking practical steps to boost the textile industry’s global competitiveness. These efforts focus on adopting modern knowledge and technologies and increasing export capacity.
The GUZ Partners project, carried out in collaboration with the Uzbekistan Textile and Garment Industry Association and Germany’s Gesamtmasche, aims to support these objectives. Over the next three years, it plans to increase Uzbekistan textile companies’ involvement in global supply chains, foster new partnerships, and encourage export growth.
Special focus is on evaluating Uzbekistan’s textile industry potential and aligning enterprises with global market standards. German experts met with government officials, educational institutions, and more than 50 textile firms. These discussions covered the industry’s current status, challenges, strategies to boost productivity, and ways to adapt to international market demands.

A key focus of cooperation is training qualified textile industry personnel and enhancing their practical skills. Workshops on dyeing, finishing technologies, and export development were held for over 30 specialists through the Train-the-Trainer program. Participants gained insights into modern production techniques, ways to improve technological processes, and strategies for organizing export activities effectively.
Practical cooperation to boost domestic enterprises’ export potential continues to grow. At TextileExpo Uzbekistan Spring 2026, German experts met with representatives of more than 20 local manufacturers and brands. They discussed product quality, expanding export markets, sustainable development, and improving production efficiency.
A key aspect of the project is promoting the adoption of modern digital technologies and innovative business strategies in the industry. To support this, practical training sessions on artificial intelligence, digital tools, business management, and communication were held for women entrepreneurs and textile industry experts.

The Association emphasizes the importance of leveraging international marketing experience to enhance export potential. Industry specialists attended special seminars featuring international marketing expert Sven Eriskat, who discussed strategies for applying marketing techniques in global markets, boosting product promotion, and increasing export opportunities.
Cooperation with Germany extends beyond production and exports to include developing textile education and design. At the Tashkent Institute of Textile and Light Industry, a five-day international training seminar was held for designers, faculty, industry experts, and students, featuring international fashion and design expert Robert Herzog. Participants shared experiences on modern design approaches and current trends in the global fashion industry.
