CIS countries define common approaches to industrial policy
The 12th meeting of the Council on Industrial Policy of the CIS Member States took place in Astana.
The meeting was attended by delegations from Kazakhstan, Russia, and Tajikistan, as well as representatives of the CIS Executive Committee and heads of relevant research and educational organizations.
Uzbekistan was represented by a delegation led by Ahadjon Isoqjonov, First Deputy Chairman of the Committee for Industrial, Radiation and Nuclear Safety.

The participants exchanged views on modernizing industrial sectors, ensuring safe production, widely introducing advanced technologies, and developing industrial cooperation between states. It was noted that under current economic conditions, strengthening industrial cooperation plays an important role in enhancing competitiveness and accelerating countries’ technological development.
Special attention at the meeting was paid to expanding cooperation in heavy engineering. In particular, an action plan was approved to implement the agreements reached in this area. The document provides for strengthening production cooperation, introducing innovative solutions, and developing the exchange of experience between enterprises.
Issues related to developing cooperation in civil shipbuilding and the production of marine equipment were also considered. The importance of forming joint production chains and increasing the output of high-tech products was emphasized.

During the meeting, draft versions of the Concept of Cooperation among the CIS Member States for the Development of the Electronics Industry and the Action Plan for its implementation were approved.
Following the discussions, the development of industrial cooperation, the promotion of technology transfer, and the introduction of modern technologies were identified as priority areas of cooperation among the CIS countries. In this context, the participants emphasized the importance of establishing common approaches to industrial policy and further deepening mutually beneficial cooperation.
The next meeting of the Council on Industrial Policy of the CIS Member States will be held in Uzbekistan in 2027.
