A new highlight for outstanding heritage in the global media spotlight

The International Media Forum “Islamic Civilization: New Perspective – New Discoveries”, taking place in Tashkent and Samarkand, has brought together around 300 leading media representatives, scholars, cultural figures and digital technology experts from nearly 50 countries.

The involvement of major global media outlets such as Euronews, CNN, BBC, and Al Jazeera underscores the event’s scale and importance.

Held on the eve of Uzbekistan’s 35th independence anniversary, the esteemed forum has established itself as a key platform for showcasing the nation’s rich civilizational legacy to the global community from a modern perspective. The initial plenary session focused on “The Islamic Civilization Center in Uzbekistan – a new pillar of a great heritage”.

UzA correspondent interviewed representatives of foreign media outlets on the event’s essence and significance, the initiatives being proposed, and opportunities to broadly promote the heritage of Islamic civilization in the international information space.

Ahmed Al-Busaidi, News Anchor at Oman’s National Television & Radio:

– The Islamic Civilization Center is truly captivating. It embodies a vast history and a wealth of knowledge. I believe the forum’s purpose is precisely to showcase to a wider audience the work being carried out and the opportunities being created within the walls of the Islamic Civilization Center. This is extremely important.

I always hope that events like this will continue to showcase the achievements of the Republic of Uzbekistan to the world. It is important to demonstrate that Uzbekistan presents Islamic civilization not merely as written history, but as a living force that continues to reach people today, spreading light and peace throughout the world.

In many countries, Uzbekistan may be perceived as a country that is not widely known in the global media landscape or frequently covered by the media. – This is my fourth visit to Uzbekistan. I first came here in 2019. If we compare Uzbekistan then with the country today, we can see tremendous changes. Tashkent, in particular, has become a very modern city. The Uzbek people are hospitable and always friendly toward foreigners, and I truly enjoy being here.

In today’s globalized world, Central Asian countries play an increasingly important role. Uzbekistan is pursuing an effective, open, and active foreign policy, developing cooperation with other countries, including Slovakia.
