Acting Chairman of the State Committee of the Republic of Uzbekistan for Tourism Development Abdulaziz Akkulov met with the Chairman of the Spiritual Administration of Muslims of the Republic of Tatarstan, Kamil Samigullin.

Abdulaziz Akkulov, addressing the event organized with the support of the Consulate General of Uzbekistan in Kazan, spoke about the potential of pilgrim tourism in Uzbekistan.

Presentation of the pilgrim tourism of Uzbekistan was held. Historical cities, holy monuments and famous figures of the Islamic world who lived in the country were presented.

Due to the fact that the Muslim Board of the Republic of Tatarstan independently organizes such trips to foreign countries, the issue of sending tourists to Uzbekistan traveling through the pilgrimage tourism department to Uzbekistan was discussed at the event.

Participants of the meeting were informed about the reforms carried out in recent years in Uzbekistan. Among them, the adoption of new documents, simplification of visa policy, changes in the transport sector. Representatives of the Spiritual Administration of Muslims of the Republic of Tatarstan expressed a desire to visit Uzbekistan.

Representatives of Uzbekistan delegation, in turn, in connection with the recognition of Bukhara as the capital of Islamic culture in 2020, invited Tatar Muslims to large-scale cultural and enlightenment events in Bukhara.

Following the meeting, the State Committee of the Republic of Uzbekistan for Tourism Development organized a presentation of national cuisine.
