The Consulate General of the Republic of Uzbekistan in Greece, in conjunction with the Chamber of Commerce and Industry, organized a visit of Hunarmand Association to Greece within the framework of implementation of instructions of the leadership on increasing exports, enhancing the tourism attractiveness of Uzbekistan, as well as supporting handicrafts.


The Consulate General of the Republic of Uzbekistan in Greece, in conjunction with the Chamber of Commerce and Industry, organized a visit of Hunarmand Association to Greece within the framework of implementation of instructions of the leadership on increasing exports, enhancing the tourism attractiveness of Uzbekistan, as well as supporting handicrafts.

The purpose of the visit was to explore the possibilities of opening a Trading house in Athens on selling Uzbek handicrafts, including carpets, suzane, national clothes, ceramics and other souvenirs.

Within the framework of the visit, with the assistance of the Consulate General, meetings were organized with representatives of a number of Greek companies engaged in sale of souvenirs in the most famous tourist areas of Greece: Plaka, Monastiraki and Kolonaki. Representatives of Hunarmand Association became acquainted with the terms of acquisition and lease of premises for a trading house and a warehouse for Uzbek souvenirs.

The Greek side was acquainted with samples of Uzbek souvenirs and carpets, which are very popular among tourists.

Following the visit, an agreement was reached on opening the Trading House of Uzbek artisans in Athens. In the near future, the first round of Uzbek souvenirs and carpets is expected to be send from Uzbekistan.
