Meeting with the Director General of the Ministry of Tourism of India
On August 16, 2018, Acting First Deputy Chairman of the State Committee for Tourism Development U.Kasimkhodjayev met with the Director General of the Ministry of Tourism of India P.C. Cyriac.
Practical issues on enhancing bilateral cooperation were discussed at the meeting. The Uzbek side informed guests with ongoing reforms in Uzbekistan, and guests told about promising directions of tourism development in India.
Following the meeting, the parties agreed to develop specific comprehensive plan of measures on enhancing Uzbekistan – India cooperation for 2019-2021. The plan will include joint investment and marketing projects, including cooperation in medical, cultural, expedition, business, wedding, pilgrimage tourism.
In addition, the parties agreed to organize the visit of Indian star with a large number of subscribers on Facebook, Instagram and Twitter. The partners are planning to increase tourist flow between the two countries tenfold.
It is necessary to note historical and cultural community of people of the two countries. Uzbekistan – India relations are characterized by a high level of bilateral cooperation, which is based on centuries-old history of comprehensive friendly relations between the two countries.
According to the State Committee for Tourism Development, it is expected to sign the above-mentioned comprehensive plan of measures on enhancing Uzbekistan – India cooperation.
