A meeting with the delegation of Gastronomy Tourism Association of Turkey led by the Association’s President Gürkan Boztepe was held at the State Committee of the Republic of Uzbekistan for Tourism Development within the framework of the visit of the Turkish delegation to Uzbekistan on July 10-14.

At the meeting the sides discussed issues of intensification of bilateral cooperation in the field of gastronomic tourism. Issues of implementing promising projects aimed at popularization of Uzbek cuisine in Turkey and abroad, practical solutions for improving the image and recognition of the tourism brand “Uzbekistan” were considered.

Within the framework of the visit of the Turkish delegation, a trip to the cities of Samarkand and Bukhara was organized, where guests got acquainted with the national cuisine of Uzbekistan, visited national and thematic restaurants in the cities. For their part, experts of gastronomic tourism from Turkey gave their practical advice and recommendations to managers of these institutions for improving the quality of tourist services.

As reported by the Press Service of the Committee, following the visit of the Turkish delegation, the State Committee for Tourism Development of Uzbekistan and the Gastronomy Tourism Association of Turkey signed an Agreement on intentions of cooperation in the field of gastronomic tourism.
