Man and untouched natureThere are still unknown places – nature protection areas in Uzbekistan. The ways of making them more attractive and comfortable for tourists was discussed by an international expert on development of tourism in the field of nature protection areas Juris Smalinskis.
Juris Smalinskis is the international expert, employee of Latvian Country Tourism Association. Juris is the author of more than 250 scientific and popular articles, as well as more than 50 tourist guidebooks and maps, co-author of many books. Smalinskis traveled to 60 countries, including Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, Tajikistan and Kyrgyzstan.
He is not in Uzbekistan for the first time. Ten years ago, he visited the country as a biologist, he was interested in ecosystems of deserts. This time he came as a trainer on the issues of development of tourism in nature protection areas within the framework of the European Union project “Strengthening rural and ecotourism through business associations for sustainable economic development in Central Asia”.
As reported by the Press Service of the State Committee of the Republic of Uzbekistan for Tourism Development, Juris Smalinskis conducted a series of trainings, prepared by the Association of Private Tourism Agencies of Uzbekistan, for representatives of state bodies responsible for nature protection and tourism development.
