Taking into account numerous appeals of administrations of accommodation facilities and independent tourists, rectification to the process of applying temporarily of arrived foreign citizens to the internal affairs bodies at the place of arrival for a temporary residence was introduced by the resolution of the Cabinet of Ministers of the Republic of Uzbekistan of 29.05.2018.

Taking into account numerous appeals of administrations of accommodation facilities and independent tourists, rectification to the process of applying temporarily of arrived foreign citizens to the internal affairs bodies at the place of arrival for a temporary residence was introduced by the resolution of the Cabinet of Ministers of the Republic of Uzbekistan of 29.05.2018 No.398 “On introducing amendments and addenda to certain decisions of the Government of the Republic of Uzbekistan”. This was reported by the Press Service of the State Committee for Tourism Development.

Previously, in practice, there was a problem of establishing by internal affairs bodies of a three-day period for registration of foreigners, including ambiguity and different interpretations in determining the days off, due to difference in the working mode (5-day or 6-day) of state and other organizations.

Now temporary residence permit of a foreigner is carried out upon arrival at the destination within three days, excluding the day off (Sunday) and holidays, although this period is calculated from 00-01h. of the day after the date of arrival (the crossing of the border of the Republic of Uzbekistan by a foreign citizen through a checkpoint).

In addition, in the current legislation there was an unfinished norm on confirming the period of stay of a foreigner in each specific location.

The above-mentioned decision of the Government of the country establishes the procedure according to which a foreign citizen will be released from the obligation of temporary registration if he or she can submit supporting documents on the receipt of services, purchase of goods, that the period of a stay in each specific location of the country does not exceed three days.
