Technovation competition kicks off in Uzbekistan
Registration of mentors and participants of Technovation Uzbekistan republican competition, which is the qualifying stage of Technovation Challenge international competition, held among girls at the age from 10 to 18, kicks off in Uzbekistan.

This year the organizers of the republican stage of the competition are the Association for Support of Children and Families of Uzbekistan, the Ministry of Innovation Development of the Republic of Uzbekistan, the country’s Youth Union, the United Nations Development Programme, Inha University in Tashkent.

According to the Ministry of Innovation Development, Technovation Challenge international competition has been held since 2010 in almost 80 countries, including Uzbekistan. This is a technological development competition. It is planned to create women’s teams within its framework, which under the guidance of mentors and coaches will have to determine the current problem, create an application for its resolution, establish a company necessary for commercial implementation of the project. Participation in the program helps girls develop critical thinking skills, entrepreneurship and programming, teamwork and communication with the audience.

Girls from Uzbekistan will take part in Technovation Challenge for the third time. Last year, a team of Uzbekistan schoolgirls “Generation Z” entered the top six teams in the world in the younger age group and represented Uzbekistan in the global finals in California, the United States.

Winners of the republican qualifying round will take part in the semifinal of the Technovation Challenge competition, which will be held online.

The international jury of the competition, which includes well-known scientists, programmers and businessmen, will get acquainted with works of hundreds of participants from different countries and will select ten finalists. These teams will take part in the final competition, which will be held in San Francisco, the United States.
