MITC attends the workshop on regional cooperation development
Representatives of the Ministry for Development of Information Technologies and Communications of the Republic of Uzbekistan, the Electronic Government System Development Center and Uzbektelecom are attending the regional workshop organized by the World Bank and the State Committee for Information Technologies and Communications of the Kyrgyz Republic with support of development partners for establishing cooperation within the framework of the Regional Digital CASA Program.
This workshop is aimed at forming a common vision and identifying direction for regional cooperation between the countries of Central Asia and South Asia under the Digital CASA Program, which will promote to development of digital economy in order to enhance the competitiveness of Digital CASA countries.
Participants from Afghanistan, the Kyrgyz Republic and Uzbekistan will share their vision of the main directions of digital transformation and priorities in countries to identify gaps and potential for regional cooperation and development of digital economy at the regional level.
As reported by the Press Service of the Ministry for Development of Information Technologies and Communications of the Republic of Uzbekistan, within the framework of the workshop, thematic discussions corresponding to the main components of the Digital CASA Program will be held. They will focus on regional aspects: development of digital communications and digital infrastructure, data storage and processing centers, platforms and intelligent solutions, as well as competence centers.
The Regional Digital CASA Program is designed to lay the foundations necessary for taking full advantage of opportunities that digital technologies today provide for development of digital transformation of public sector, traditional industries of the economy and society, affecting economic growth and creating the opportunity for rapid accession to the world economy.
