Demonstration of Information TechnologiesThe traditional national exhibition of information technologies, ICTExpo 2014, has taken place in Urgench.
Speaking at the opening ceremony of the exposition, Deputy Hokim of Khorezm Region, Chairperson of the Women’s Committee of the Region S.Abdukarimova and others noted that the special significance attached under the leadership of the country’s President to the further promotion of information and communication technologies has been yielding remarkable effects.
New equipment and technologies in the telecommunications sector were demonstrated at the exhibition with the participation of enterprises and organizations providing the population with mobile communications, information, telecommunications and internet services, as well as entrepreneurs and officials of government agencies.
The exposition has included the high technology products and services from more than 20 national and foreign companies, departments and agencies, banks and other institutions. The exhibition presented wire and wireless telecommunications technologies, telecommunications systems, mobile systems of projection and designing, construction and commissioning of radio communication, information technologies and systems, computer equipment, software, information protection systems, satellite and cable television and many other equipment and technologies. Participants of the event said they were impressed by the exposition to the end.
“At the exhibition I have got familiar with a variety of information and communication technologies,” said Nina Tsoi, staff member of the regional information-library center. “A special attention is paid in our center to their introduction into practice. The installation of a high-speed and high-accuracy scanner is important in the creation of electronic versions of books and documents. The voice information also has been of great convenience for readers.”
The digital system implemented in the region facilitates the cardinal improvement in the quality of communication and the multiplied enlargement in the interactive services provided for the local population. The establishment of the system of diverse public services for people, built on the principle “single window”, and the electronic taxation and other statistical reporting are creating additional convenience.
“Our center is tasked first and foremost with the creation of various electronic systems and software for government agencies and organizations,” Bahrom Nazarov, chief specialist of the regional center for computerization, has suggested. “For instance, the electronic system Е-Kad is used in providing services in land management and cadastre of estate for self-sustained organizations on the “single window” principle.”
