China intends to launch commercial 5G networksChina intends to launch commercial use of the fifth generation 5G communications by the end of 2018, and in 2019 to ensure its full-fledged work in the country.
"Chinese mobile operators – China Mobile, China Unicom and China Telecom – are expected to launch a commercial 5G, including base station and terminal equipment, already by the end of this year”, – China Daily quotes the interview of Qiao Yueshan, deputy head of the Information Technologies Department of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology of the PRC.
For the first time, the Chinese corporation Huawei announced the commercialization of the 5G network in 2018, in China. In February this year, the company introduced the world's first commercial client terminal 5G CPE, which supports the globally recognized 5G standard. Following Huawei, China's ZTE telecom giant in April announced the successful conduction of the first call in the fifth generation network.
Development and testing of base stations and devices for the standard of communication of the fifth generation are being conducted in many countries. It is expected that introduction of 5G will increase the data transfer to one gigabyte per second, which is 20-50 times faster than existing data transmission standards.
