Uzbekistan’s athletes set Asian and World records
Members of Uzbekistan sports delegation are successfully participating at the III Asian Para Games, in Jakarta.
Uzbekistan’s athletes achieved high results in championships. Particularly, Khusniddin Norbekov, defending the honor of Uzbekistan at the Men’s shot put set a world record with a throw to 16.35 meters and became the winner.
Kamola Abdullayeva won a gold medal in long jump, Alexander Svechnikov – in javelin, Sofia Burkhanova – in shot put, Roziya Ergasheva – in javelin. Sabina Sukhanova came third in 200 meters running and became the bronze medalist.
In 100 meters freestyle swimming in S13 classification, Islam Aslanov won a gold, Muzaffar Tursunkhodjayev – silver, Dmitry Khorlin – bronze medal. It should also be noted that Islam Aslanov not only won the championship, but also set the Asian Para Games record (51.71 seconds).
In women’s championships, Fotima Amilova set an Asian Para Games record with 58.66 seconds and won a gold medal. Another athlete from Uzbekistan Shokhsanam Toshpulatova got a silver with the same result.
In judo championships, Sherzod Namozov and Utkir Nigmatov won gold medals in their weight categories. Lobar Khurramova won a silver and Sevinch Sallayeva bronze medal.
Roza Kuziyeva, defending the honor of Uzbekistan in women’s powerlifting up to 55 kilograms weight category, recorded the result of 113 kilograms and became the gold medalist.
